Steubenville, The Best Homeschooling Community in America

Since we bought a home in Steubenville, Ohio, our 5 homeschooled children have been exposed to and involved with so many wonderful Catholic community experiences. Everything from the Debate Club, The Chess Club, Conquest for Boys, Edge for jr high, Good Shepherd for elementary school aged, ongoing interaction with Fransiscan students, excellent music lessons, pro life youth congress, mom's teaching classes (science, literature, history etc...) Wow, my kids are really being spoiled; but wait, why isn't this happening all over the country? Why is so unusual to have this type of cooperation amongst homeschoolers?

  1. It's unusual because Franciscan's charism is so unusual!! While I'm not into the Charismatic nature of the spirituality there, it can't be denied that a natural side effect of charismatics is a certain degree of openness, of inclusiveness. Makes for building a team-like society easy.

  2. Go glad, Tom. May it spread like wild-fire and may your children light it up!
